Happily single!??! whats wrong with you and why are you posting in the singles forum?
I'm 40 and have been single most of my life and don't really regret it.
I don't need anyone to complete me, I don't need anyone to take care of me, cook for me, wash my clothes, build my ego, treat me like a man child, etc.

Having said that, companionship can be a wonderful thing with a like minded person. I'm "height weight proportionate" 6ft, brown hair/eyes. I think I'm a decent looking guy

I'm a very complicated person, I can't help it.  I grew up in a large fundamentalist religious family and was afraid of everything up into my 20's, but from then on I've made my life about learning and experiencing everything possible to make up for my sheltered youth.
I'm not religious any more but rather "spiritual" in the sense of wide eyed wonder about the universe and ideas, nature, music- rather than the sense of there are invisible beings with magical powers that want something from me.

Some of my hobbies/talents/abilities : I am a voracious reader, I read everything that has words on it, even the shampoo bottle while in the shower. I love books about agriculture, philosophy, religions, sociology, herbs, music, sci fi, languages/cultures, drugs, humor, electronics, etc.

I taught myself to speak Spanish fluently, I know enough Portuguese to read and write some. I have traveled to Mexico many times, to various other countries also.
I enjoy cooking, inventing and experimenting in the Kitchen, eating, gardening, exotic plants, natural entheogens, tropical plants, nature, hiking, walking, camping, swimming.
(organized or team sports bore me senseless)
I am a musician and have played in bands for over 25 years. I play various musical instruments, write songs, sing.
I love a very wide variety of music from bluegrass to to zydeco.

I have been described as the "strong silent type", I don't talk unecessarily, but I can talk for hours to interesting people about interesting things.
If one wanted to tie me down as to my philosophical leanings, I would say that I lean to humanism, I am a pacifist, I hate war and violence, I hate hate.
I am very open minded and accepting of other people as long as they are not a-holes. Actually I am quite amiable, and get along with pretty much anyone anywhere, even if I don't agree with them. My friends range from new agey hippies to conservative Christian and I love them all.
I smoke/drink occasionally, and am looking forward to the eventual legalization of pot (but occasionally partake until then)

I dislike dating, dating websites, singles bars, and the whole meat market mentality.  What or who am I looking for? Someone just like me haha...
seriously, I like girls that are not shallow, intelligent, down to earth, open, warm, good sense of humor (maybe even a weird or bizarre sense of humor)
I prefer bluejeans with dirt stains on the knees rather than tight dress and war paint. Girls that speak their mind and are their own person, that go out of their way to help others, don't hate, don't lie, accepting of people different than herself, creative, deep thinking, etc.

I live in the North Georgia mountains, and have been here 20 years. Lived all over the Southern USA.

So... If any of this nonsense above rings a bell with you, even just on a friendly level, I'll be happy to hear from you.

Just found this website and your post. I'm not particularly seeking a relationship, but your post hit on sooo many similar levels that I'm compelled to reply. Your post was a few years back. What's your current take?

Well, I am also into intellect. Nothing better than a good conversation eith some one about deep things and not endless jibber jabber about silliness. Not ghat I'm not silly. I appreciate that a lot, and loving life eith my inner child in awe and wonder eith all around me. I'm blabbing. Sorry, hoping you have a great day!
