Has anyone found an actual safe way to keep mosquitoes away from cats (other than keep them inside)? My little girl demands 2-3 hrs outside every day, her name is Gabby for a reason, and she is getting bit on her ears. We have no problems with fleas, the few times over the years that she has gotten any, we do the flea comb/DE combo, and that problem gets nipped in the bud. However the mosquitoes here are horrible! We have both regular brown & a new import of an Asian tiger mosquito. The Asian one is really bad, hunts all day & night. Everything that I have seen that is labeled "natural" and "safe" for cats, contains essential oils that I know can cause damage to cats. The ones that I have seen normally contain a mix with some of the following (all toxic to cats) Peppermint, Tea tree oil, Eucalyptus, Citrus-based Citronella, etc. I just lost one of my furbabies last year to what was likely cancer (she went downhill and passed too quick for confirmation), and I certainly don't want to cause harm to my remaining little girl by trying to keep her bite-free. I'm contemplating trying to make a cat version of this dog mosquito net mask (
https://www.outfoxfordogs.com/), but as anyone who owns cats knows, I'm sure that isn't going to be received well by the wearer, lol! Has anyone had any luck with anything that is truly safe for cats that will keep mosquitoes off of them? Thanks!
