I was at an antique store and they had a bunch of old wood phone parts. One was about 50 percent, missing receiver, hook and crank, also no shelf. I bought it because it was so cheap. all in with all the parts I had to buy is 90 bucks give or take a five. LED bulb included. I had to buy a hook, light pendent with cloth cord, double twisted vintage style cord and oak bakalite look plug and a switch to go where the crank used to. I used a little linseed oil to freshen up the case and made a light out of it. I had some scrap oak so made a shelf. I at some point will tap in a connection for my phone charger and the shelf will be a charging station.

Hey, Jim, welcome to Permies!  That's attractive.  I really hope you get the charging station added... I know there are never enough safe places to rest a charging device in my house, and I doubt yours is any different.

That's a pretty cute piece. I'll bet you could sell that for a decent price on Etsy, if you were so inclined. I love that it's going to be a functional charging station for phones. Hey, welcome, Jim!

Awesome first post! Welcome to Permies!! That is a great use of an old phone, I don't know what happened to the one we had all my childhood, I think my brother ended up with it.
I just ended up with the wood parts of 7 old wooden clocks, the German carved types, not the super high end ones but cool ones. Haven't decided what to do with them. Upcycling them to charger stations might be a neat idea!

Beauty! Have you thought of rocking that thing as a bluetooth headset?
