I planted creeping charlie in this spot but this plant has taken over.  I used to try to keep it pulled up but finally just let it have its way.  It is not a bad looking plant but I can't seem to find out what it is and wondered if it has any uses other than ornamental.

Glechoma hederacea. Common names include Gill-over-the-ground, Alehoof, Ground Ivy. It's in the mint family and a tea made from it helps combat heavy metal poisoning. It can also be used in place of hops.

Thank You!  I googled the name you gave and I can't believe the number of uses for this plant.  I'm glad it was persistant.

Yeah, I was researching it earlier this year and found a site on how to remove it, Plantain and Dandy-lion from your lawn - basically they said to spray herbicides everywhere. I can't believe some people. I, for one, would much prefer these medicinal wonders to grass!
