I have a few pieces of turmeric root sprouting.  Has anyone grown turmeric in the house or greenhouse?

I am growing it in a 3 gallon container on my patio.  I am in South Florida.  It doesn't seem crazy about full sun, but does seem to like the heat.  Many gingers do OK being indoor/outdoor plants, overwintering inside in the dormant state.

I've got some turmeric growing in a one-gallon pot outside in Seattle.  not exactly going crazy, but it seems content.

My climate is too cold for turmeric, but I like the idea of trying to grow it indoors in containers.
