--not sure where to put this, I remember a book thread, but not where it is --
I found this book in the library, if it had been a bookstore I would have bought it.
The full title and author:
Radical Gardening: Politics, Idealism and Rebellion in the Garden
by George McKay

He has one chapter on the "left and right" of gardening - about how the Nazis had herb gardens and made their slave laborers work them.

I couldn't read all of it, but it was fascinating.
