Here's the one I was looking at:
http://montanarealestate4sale.com/cabn-wtrpond.htm I don't know anything about the realtor. The place seems pricey to me in a way and then again maybe not. It's an hour out of Missoula. It says 6 miles from the nearest services. By services does he mean utilities or gas station, stores, etc? It's off the grid which is what we are looking for. You would probably need a snowmobile to get out in the winter and a 4x4 ATV after the thaw. I could find something with less land but I want to keep at least 2 of my horses. I did notice the price of hay where you are is about double to what we get it for here. A large round bale can be bought for about $40 and a small square bale is around 3.50 from a farmer. Here there are few places left to ride without trailering but if you have land the horses are inexpensive to keep. There is seems you have endless riding but it could cost a lot to keep them.....unless you have land:) The winters are fairly mild here and last year we just used 12 round bales and a little feed for 5 horses. I know the weather is not as cold or extended as Alaska....another state I've been looking at. Can you tell me about how many months the place would be snowed in...best guess.
I really enjoy this website, it is very informative with a lot of nice people....maybe thanks to the moderator deleting the rude replies:) I'd like to think yawl are just nice.
