There is a national Animal Poison Control Center that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You'll need a credit card and the charge is usually $60, with a certain amount of free follow-up. The toll-free number is
(888) 426-4435.
HOWEVER, the human Poison Control Center is FREE, and will give you free advice on possible animal poisonings. DO NOT try to circumvent their good advice by telling them your pet is a child, tell them the truth. It's okay. I've called them three different times, and they're perfectly fine with the fact that the possible victim is an animal. They may ask for the weight of the animal, so have at least a rough idea.
The toll-free number is (800) 222-1222.
