I have an urban lot 100 ft by 120 ft on Cicero Ave in Chicago at approx Belmont.  It has a house and two garages which I rent out.  It is secure with 8 foot tall cyclone fence all around it.  I am looking for someone to use it for gardening/urban permaculture.

It has water access and electricity and gets adequate sun

I have some funds for infrastructure.

Any one interested?

Any advice on how I find someone?

I added 25 flags.  I hope I did not violate flag etiquette.  Since I am offering something for free I thought it would be ok.

my email is jloserv@hotmail.com

Thanks

What about self watering IBC (International bulk container)?

-No concerns about contamination and nothing to steal (the metal cage is not worth the work of tipping over the very heavy IBC with soil in it).
-I can get food grade IBC for $50 max
-I think you can get two containers from one by cutting in half (top on a skid and bottom that has the skid intact)
-you get to work without bending down
-You could fence in the lot to reduce litter, loitering, etc.
-you could relocate with a construction forklift

In Chicago the lots are 25 by 125 and an IBC is roughly 3'square.  I figure you could put about 150 -200 containers on a plot.  I would put in 4 rows  so you can see down from the street and have no space in-between each IBC in each row.

I think you could link them together using manifold system for watering. Maybe get a neighbor to help with watering?

I have thought about this for years and never tried it.  Feel free to criticize so I can stop thinking about it and feeling guilty for not doing it.

Thanks

Update for 15 passenger van: the person that was coming in at 7:50 flight was cancelled

That means we will leave airport at 6:30pm

If you need a later departure time let me know by posting here or texting me (I'm in a mark Sheppard workshop all day)

I'm guessing we have room for 5 more(15 person van).

Hello all,

I am picking up the 15 passenger van on Monday at 1pm. I am driving to ecotopia Ranch (Valley Center) late Monday night or early Tuesday morning for mark Shepard's workshop. I am driving to San Diego airport after workshop and then heading back North to Temecula. I think I'm picking up 2 people so far. As long as it's reasonable time and reasonable distance I will pick people until full. I am returning on 17th or 18th (I haven't decided yet but I'm thinking 18th). If you need a ride post here.
