Hi Elijah, I wasn't sure from your post which community you were interested in.  If you are interested in ours, send an email to the address I mentioned in an earlier post.  Thanks!

Hi, I just wanted to bump this thread and say that we are still looking for people to join our community.  Thanks for looking!

We need more communities like this in the world.  We would love to have your community in our neighborhood.  We are in central NY state near Ithaca.  I'll let you know if any land nearby comes up for sale.

Eve Fischer wrote:Hi James,
I'm up to a similar project in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and I just wanted to say that I liked your listing on ic.org very much and that I wish you many blessings. It is a wonderful opportunity you are offering! I hope one day to form a kind of network in which member groups of several families can bounce to different communities,  to help build and share knowledge, kinda like Amish barn raising but for whole seasons.
All the best to you, Eve

Hi Eve,
Thanks!  We lived up there for 1/2 a year, outside of Enosburg Falls, not really the NE kingdom, but not far away.  I like the idea of a network where we can bounce around, but for better or worse we have a hard time leaving because of the cows.  People moving between communities could bring trade items with them.  Also, it would be neat to see your project.

Michele Huff wrote:Hello my name is Michele. I have a family My husband myself and 3 kids ages 9 months, 8, 17 years old. My husband is a master when it comes to construction, plumber etc. I myself am a jack of all trades when it comes to farming, gardening and a little woodwork also. I believe in growing a life that is more natural and healthy. I would love to find an off grid community for me and my family to be a part of, we don't have much when it comes to materialistic things and money but we do have hands that is very skillful and willing to learn more skills. We are a very humble and respectful family seeking a more meaningful life.

Hi Michelle,
We have been off grid homesteading on a property for 16 years and have recently bought another property with the idea of starting a pagan church and community.  You can see our listing at https://www.ic.org/directory/via-lactea-sanctuary/
We are really into grass based dairy cow agriculture, but also do veggies, fruit trees, nut trees, a few chickens.  The second property has some housing that could potentially be available.  We are in central NY state, so the weather can be cold and cloudy for long periods.  Let us know if you are interested.  jrdulle@gmail.com
thanks,

If ancestral connection, decolonized spirituality, and regenerative subsistence as resistance mean something to you, please consider joining Via Lactea Sanctuary.  A place for People of the Cow.  https://www.ic.org/directory/find/?community_status=&search=Via%20Lactea%20Sanctuary

Ky McMillion wrote:Hello. My name is Ky McMillion. I am very interested in homestead living, and very willing and capable of helping someone on their land. I had dreams of building an off-grid community of my own, however life had other plans for me. I am a 43 year old father of three. My eldest son is a college freshman this year, and paying for his education has definitely let me know that city living is way too expensive for my family to sustain.  My wife and I run a nonprofit which provides a variety of high quality low cost services to people in need. We have many skills. We homeschool our two younger children. Their ages are 11 and 9 years old.  I am in search of an opportunity to help someone on their land and help them build their homesteading community. I understand how much work it is to do alone. I am not sure if you would like help on your land, but I am hoping you know someone who does. We currently live in Boston Massachusetts, but are willing to relocate. I am hoping you are interested in our help or know someone who would be. I truly thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I hope you receive this message and i hear from you soon. Have a blessed day and stay healthy.

Hi, you may be interested in a post we just made in the communities section of permies, about a community that we are forming in central NY state.
thanks,

What an awesome opportunity, I hope that you find some folks with similar goals and get it off the ground running.

Any chance you have some pictures to share?

Thanks!

I think there are at least a few on the IC listing that I put the link for.

Hi, we are homesteading and starting a small community and nature based church in central NY state.  We have been doing this for 16 years, and just bought a second piece of land nearby.  We grow lots of veggies, fruit trees, nut trees, and have dairy cows and chickens (though we need to buy more).  We have lots of space for permaculture projects and housing potentially available.  It is a cold fairly cloudy climate here, which is not to some people's liking.  You can find us on the intentional communities website.     https://www.ic.org/directory/via-lactea-sanctuary/
Hope you find a good spot to homestead!
thanks,
James
