Hi, my name is John. I am originally from eastern Kentucky but I was raised on a farm in central NC, close to the Virginia border. Everything that made NC my home is no longer so I have been planning on relocating, with Kentucky on my list of places to go. Like I mentioned, I grew up on a working farm. We mainly had cattle but also had horses, sheep and lots of goats, amongst other animals, so I know my way around a farm and farm equipment/tractors. I am also self-employed as a carpenter so I also have that skill set. I also know how to garden and grow edible mushrooms (not for profit, just a hobby). I have been looking for some good, decent people to fall in with and see where things go but have been too busy lately to really do any serious searching. Hi, my name is John. I am 45 and single. I have a very well mannered dog named Jack who does mean the world to me. I'm relocating soon and am looking for a place to settle for a bit. I grew up on a working farm in NC. My parents bought the land and we built a farm from scratch. Right now I am self employed as a carpenter and also do woodworking as a livelyhood. I know how to garden, but mostly ridge and furrow type, which is the preferred method here. I know very little about permaculture but wouldn't have a problem learning it. I am an Army veteran of 11 years and because of that I'm something of an introvert but I do get along and work well with others. In other words I'm a team player but I like my space. I have been wanting to start a dialog with others seeking help with homesteading or the like to see where it goes. Right now I am in the middle of two big jobs and I can't leave until I finish them, but both are at least half finished. I usually read forums not post replys so this is kind of a new thing for me. Hi, my name is John and I live in Timberlake, NC. I'm looking to relocate soon, maybe early summer. I am a 45 year old single male with a very handsome, well mannered dog named Jack. I grew up on a 32 acre farm here in North Carolina. We raised Black Angus cattle, horses (Quarter and Tennessee Walkers), sheep, goats, etc... so I have plenty of experience with livestock. We also did a lot of growing so I know my way around tractors, plows, bush hogs, gardens and so on. I am a Army veteran. I served from 1992 to 2000 and again from 2004 to 2006. Right now I work for myself as a carpenter and am the care taker of an old farm for an elderly couple. However, I am ready to move on. There are a lot of reasons why I want to relocate, it's a very long, sad story and I won't bore you with it. I don't drink alcohol but I'm not against it in any way nor am I into drugs. Hi Marianne. In a nutshell, I'm looking to relocate and am interested in what you are offering. I was raised on a working farm in Person Co. NC so I have plenty of experience. Right now, I'm helping an elderly couple maintain their property, house, ect. I am single but with a very well behaved canine companion. If you would like to start a dialog that would be great.
