We are a retired couple...hated retirement....and city life. Bought a small farm to start another homestead....we have been organic for many years...and wanted to try permaculture. However, we are not as young as we use to be. We have 37 acres, HUGE house, (possible divide) we live here with our old very spoiled cat. Large pole barn, smaller building, large old guest house (last tenants were goats) and 2 large chicken coops....and other structures....all empty- very sad.

We have many ideas and options....need muscle and someone who wants to grow their own food and earn a decent income from the land. We are willing to be partners, or use you as a farm manager (or both)...what ever works best for all of us. In addition to any money we share off the land.... if you are handy, we would hire you for the handyman work we need done. This could provide you with some limited cash while we wait for the farm to start showing a profit.

We are not rich, but we are not in danger of losing the farm....but seeing it so empty is not what we want. Yes we could sell, but our dream is to see this farm thrive and grow!

We are open to ideas....we need someone who has some experience with homesteading-farming-gardening and is willing to learn whatever we need to as we go. We have a large extensive library on homesteading type books. We have raised, pigs, chickens, honeybees and would like to try other animals. Last year we planted 30 dwarf fruit trees, there is also some older heritage dwarf apple trees...i plan on grafting some more next year since i did not get that done...these sell for a lot of money..nice spring income! We can teach you how.

I also use to can and preserve over 1,000 jars of food each year and dehydrate as much as possible...big family. But right now, due to some current health issues, the garden is full of weeds instead of veggies. There is still time for a late garden this year..do you want to share it??

So if you are looking for a chance for a "free farm"....and willing to barter your muscles and hard work ethics, please contact us so we can talk more. Couples and families are also welcome. Tell us your ideas, your experience and what you are looking for. I have never used this site before....please post your info and i will respond, i promise to check daily.

God Bless,
BJ

i don't have much hands-on experience, but the hands-on experience is what I am after. If you are okay with me learning as I go, or getting a bit of instruction from the other people who want to help on your land, then, I can provide a lot of work for you. I've been doing a bunch of reading, but I really want to be doing something hands-on!

My name is Henry I am 32, graduated college in civil then electronics engineering. I am 6’4” 200lbs and not afraid to lift 200lbs on my shoulders. I have tremendous perseverance and attention to detail when doing things I love, perma-farming being one, as it keeps me close to God. I am religious and live almost a Monastic life, outside a monastery. Pretty boring one may think, but God is my fuel and I can be out there working that field alone, I don’t care, I do it alone, just God and I! I love helping and this is great for me, and great for you because I truly know what I can offer to another human, and it’s a lot, much more than you expect, possibly mind blowing! I will make anyone’s life easier for sure, and not because I would try, but just because it’s who I am, I enjoy transforming with my hands, making things from bad to good again, to make someone worthless valuable, I rather dress up an old puppy pretty again then to breed another one.

You are HERE! The other map is obviously wrong. Better confirm with this tiny ad:
