Hola, we just finished our lean-to greenhouse extension. Wrote all about it on the blog if anyone is interested in making their own - it's attached to the side of a stone cabin, we converted the old woodstore

Hello there permaculture world!

My partner & I are just starting out on our food-selling journey in Asturias, Spain. The plan is to sell hot, fresh, seasonal and organic food in local markets. (watch this space)

Anyway, a lot of the markets require you to bring your own stand. We've had a look at some websites that are charging from €300 for a post plus waterproof roof.

We both have carpentry experience and some decent tools, and are thinking it could be better to make it ourselves. Has anyone done this and has some tips or plans available?

This is the kind of thing we have in mind:

Please let us know your experiences with this if any! Looking forward to the discussion x
Hi Jasmine! Nice to see you on here..
We are currently building a lean-to greenhouse on our cabin in Spain with polycarbonate roof inspired by yours & Simon’s shed. Always continue to be inspired by your project and have very fond memories!
Peace n love x

Oh yes, and plastic bags! Going Green with Wrapped Baskets

Not so much a natural fiber, but it is an excellent way of recycling rather than throwing old plastic bags to landfill

My gut reaction was soaked willow, though blackberry or bramble stalk could also be an excellent place to start

This is wonderful!!

Tried to grow some flax behind the house last year after watching this video:

(How great is the music though?!)

But unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. Don’t know whether it was slugs, snails or I just did something wrong, but it never grew.

So, awesome that not only have you managed to successfully grow but ALSO to make your own linen. Somehow I get an inkling that these thorough modes of self sufficiency are going to become really, really crucial in our lives

For anyone wondering whether or not to do a PDC, what its about, whether it's worth it, I wrote a post talking about just that here  https://peaceandpollen.net/2019/02/23/why-you-should-do-a-permaculture-design-course-this-summer/
