I am making FAA but was instructed to use 1:1 fish weight to sugar and if needed add a sugar cap.

My concoction has been fermenting for two weeks.

Should I add LAB to it?

Both my OXO and Kitchen Aid scales have developed a drift. You can leave the bowl undisturbed and the measurements will change. I can slide the bowl around and the measurements of 250g can change by as much as 50g. And both units are outside of their warranty window.

At this point I would rather spend a little more money and buy a solid built unit.

So far I am looking at the following:
Escali Pana
KD8000 Kitchen Scale
ZIEIS High Precision Scale

Collective thanks for everyone's input.

My aunt wants a couple raised beds with legs so she doesn't have to bend much due to her bad knees.

What wood and treatment would you recommend that is likely to last 10+ years?

I was leaning towards either Cypress or Cedar and then apply several layers of tung oil. I was also considering osage orange but it is not something I can find in wide boards.

I did not want to hijack a previous thread where the poster received advice on using a mushroom slurry and compost tea.

I have walked the woods in my area and not found any wild mushrooms. Would it be best to order a few mushroom blocks, let them grow and then blend that for my mushroom slurry? If this is a good route what mushrooms would you recommend I use for a mulch layer that is a mix of hard and soft wood?

Is there a point where I can build a mulch layer that is too thick? I have a good ole Georgia clay in an area that I would want to turn into good soil in a couple years. I am in no hurry but if I can get better soil faster then I am all for it. I currently have about 80 cubic yards of mulch and can have about 10 cubic yards dropped off ever two weeks.
