Thanks for all the feedback! Seems in general people wait as long as they can, but that isn't necessary (especially if there's outside pressure). The tip about not watering close to ripe to prevent splitting is one I'll need to remember!
This is the first year my partner and I have been able to have a garden together. Among our plants, we have two tomatoes and we've gone back and forth on when the best time to harvest them is. They think we should harvest them sooner, after they start to blush, since it helps protect them from pests, etc., but I always thought that they have the best flavor the longer they're on the vine, and I'm not sure if I'm just making that up.

I know that they continue to ripen on the counter once they're harvested, but I was wondering when everyone else harvests them.
Cleared the shower curtain and shook the rugs before I started, and surprised just how much dirt/sand/hair was lingering in the corners

Checked on my android (Brave Browser and Samsung Internet) and found bold and italics don't work on that either. Do any iPhone users also see this?
Frankly, I believe that Elon is looking for a startup technology that he can sell. I don't think a permaculture project is a "product" in the way that would win. However, it would be cool if Geoff Lawton entered because it might get some recognition from Elon about permaculture and inform Elon's huge audience. No idea on how to convince Geoff Lawton to do that though.

Liv, thank you for the welcome! I'm excited for the day I get even a small plot to garden in, right now I have a couple herbs growing on my balcony, but unfortunately have a north facing apartment so the sun is minimal, nothing else can really produce. Ever since learning about permaculture I have been amazed at how much information there is out there to learn. Permies are a generous bunch with information!

Paul, thank you! I hope so too! I ended up in Chicago for college and found out that I do not do well in harsh winters, so for now I'll be staying in CA (cost of living be damned).

Hi, I've been a lurker on this forum for some time, but have finally decided to make an account. I currently live in an apartment and am saving up money to one day buy some land (real estate here is absurd) and start a permaculture homestead. That is still unfortunately some time away, but I'm excited to be here now and learn as much as I can.
