I am finding my way with my homestead in the high planes desert of southwestern AZ... it. is. rough.... most people, when looking at a pros/cons list for homestead locations, would put places like this near the bottom, and I know why.  However, you can get land here for a low price, and because it's tough, many people come, try, and leave, which means you have an open view without other homes, cars, or noise (most of the time).  And there are just enough people doing it that you will have a few friends/neighbors to help when needed. The the resources are here, water is do-able, don't let people spook you out of trying.  And in exchange for the rigorous physical and mental/emotional challenge, the wisdom of the desert draws you into a Soul path that makes it worth it.  If you are called to find your way in the desert and explore living close to Mother Earth, have Faith and do it!

yes, I got 2 messages asking me to change my name, which is not conventional, but also not 'fictitious', and I was going to abbreviate last name to initial so it's less attention getting, but the name change feature won't allow it, and I can't respond to the staff message that I got about changing my name.
where is the go to for emailing staff, and/or responding to moosages I get from staff, can't find either.
Would work out an agreeable deal with each person that comes, depending on your contribution and needs.  If you wanted to visit do some work for pay, see how you like it?  That could be a start... it's completely flexible depending on each persons desires, abilities and what works best when we collaborate.

You can message me here or email me; ceres@cosmic-alchemy.space,  with interest/questions and if our visions and values compliment, we can chat, zoom,  talk about you coming to visit or live on this land and starting something communal.  For now those coming need to come in a RV, living van, or camp until another shelter can be bought or built.  Blessings..... what a refreshing post...There are few people where I live (off grid) and  I don't spend time online, I don't use social media... not social avoidance, more that I don't find it really connects,.  Maybe I'm 50% introvert, 50% extrovert... I need my own time space but also want to start something communal and with a Soul partner.  Online dating doesn't work and I agree that most off grid are busy doing their work/building/chores and the others seem to prefer isolation.  I plan on starting something in my area where those who want connections can meet, collaborate, etc. My last relationship ended about 6 months ago and I think it prepared me for the partnership I want, but that means actually meeting the next person, and it's not any of the few men I know here at the local post office, gas station, or hardware store.... and I'm not moving to be a permie partner at someone elses place, I have a spot that I love that I will develop, so alas... thanks for you candor and quip, in solidarity... Ceres.

I'm in a quick made tiny house, just adjusted to off grid from city, and am ready to start something collaborative with 1 to 3 people over the next few months.  I'm a currently single woman inviting you to get in touch if you have something to contribute financially and/or the ability to do physical work, as well as a desire for innovative living and connection of like Heart 💚.

You can message or email me; ceres@cosmic-alchemy.space,  with interest/questions and if our visions and values compliment, we can chat, zoom,  talk about you coming to live on this land and starting something innovative, partnered with nature, and potentially communal.  Spirituality and integrity are more important than age or experience.  For now those coming need to come in a RV, living van, or camp until another shelter can be bought or built.  I just joined permies and am learning the site so I don't know if these img links (below) work. If not, you can email me to get them.  I have a small profile up as well.  Blessings..... Ceres 🦋🌳💫

ah!  I am a women, currently single, homesteading with a partial set up in the rough high desert planes.  I am oh-so grateful to be out on this sacred land, in nature, re-wilding myself and communing with the elements, but it's hard as sh** doing it without a partner.  I've dated a couple of people since I've been out here... it seems like it only makes sense to live this life with a collaborating partner at least/at first, then community over time.  I've learned to accept phases of overwhelm and wear down, forcing me to let go and be flexible with what/how much I can do and trust the timing, be grateful to be alive and in nature.  I would not trade my current home life for back-to-the-city, but it is rough.  Thanks for the conversation....
