Hi Tim,

I'd be open to learn about specifics such as how many people, how much money, etc.  Email me at:

mr.rufus.2010@gmail.com
Will do, Matt.  I believe I looked.  The only negative is that NJ taxes are high.

Feel free to email and maybe we can chat.

If you are still looking, please feel free to reach out and I can share more about myself.

"Mountain man" caught my attention, then the cute pup.  Haha!!

I  am 53 and starting my homestead adventure after several years of researching and planning.  I have good skills...I took wood shop in the 8th grade.  I also have a healthy sense of humor (wood shop is true).

I'm currently on my family's property, but this is used for farming.  Feel free to connect and I can share a little more with you.

Hi Rodney,

I just found this site recently.  I'm looking for someone to share THE dream with.  I just now did a post.  I'm 53, educated and have some great homesteading skills.  I'm a reader so I've been preparing for this venture over the last eight years.  I've been buying tools and equipment and feel like I'm a chicken expert - although I've never owned them before.  Haha!!

If you would like to connect, please feel free to reach out.

I'm 53 years old, single and no children.  I've been researching, planning and preparing for an the off-grid dream.

I come from a family of farmers.  While I have a formal education, I'm a hard-worker, enthusiastic, think outside-the-box, and am positive there is always a solution.

I've been reading alot about chickens, building structures, tools and equipment, survival and security.  I was a mechanic in the Navy, am an attorney and was most recently working in environmental (and health and safety) regulatory work.  I care about the environment but am not a tree hugger.  I am all about sustainability, but we do have to live in this world.  I am great with a shotgun (sporting hobby) but want to learn about rifles.

I have experience living off-grid mountain in Northern CA for a year.  No electricity.  Used potbelly stove for heat during winter.  I loved it.

I don't have any "baggage."  I am fun to be around, but enjoy solitude as well.  I'm looking for someone or a couple to explore off-grid living.  It would be nice to support one another and share chores.  An established site is okay as well.  I prefer the middle to northern U.S. - mostly for safety and clean water (also bc I lived in TX for decades and am done with fire ants, cockroaches and alligators - haha).

As far as timeliness?  I'm ready now, but I am presently looking for land.

So happy to have found this site.  My first post.
May everyone be blessed with positive experiences!

Christine
