This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in tool care.

Typically, shops can get pretty messy over time. So, it helps to spend some time cleaning up and optimizing the use of space.

Here are some example videos of work being done to optimize the space in a shop.

How to Make the Best Use of a Small Space - Small Workshop Reno : Budget Renos #04

From the video description:
"Small Workshop Reno - Making the Best Use of a Small Space. In this video, the Handyverse tackles a messy, unorganized workshop and makes it functional. Now we'll be able to easily create many more woodworking projects in this clean and comfortable workspace. "

Small Workshop Reorganization

From the video description:
"For the past few weeks, I did a major reorganization of my small workshop (11.4 sqm or 118 sqft) to make it more user-friendly.
It is still a work in progress, and I expect more changes in the future! "

Mobile Tool Carts for a Small Workshop

From the video description:
"Mobile tool carts for small workshops.
In this video I will be building two mobile workshop carts for my large power tools.
One of the carts is designed for my large pillar drill and a 50 liter air compressor."

For this BB, space in a shop must be optimized and improved. Here are some ideas:
 - maybe building shelves
 - maybe replacing small shelves with bigger shelves
 - maybe replacing shelves with drawers or cabinets
 - maybe replacing shelves with shelves that are built more efficiently
 - maybe creating the ability to store 6 shovels, where you used to hang one shovel
 - enhancing rolly shelves - possibly building another rolly shelf
 - Some sort of organization improvement
 - Maybe building a lumber rack
 - Some sort of clever way to organize steel
 - Temporary project storage
 - Organizational signage

To get certified for this BB, post the following:
- before and after pictures of each optimization
- post enough optimizations to count for at least seven days days (oddball rules)
