This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in round wood woodworking.

This BB is the building of a lightweight stool.

This is a simple form of chair meant to be made from a minimal amount of wood and typically lacking a backrest. They are light enough to move around readily, yet solid enough to handle heavy use.

There aren't too many videos of this exact flavor of stool but here's one that's probably close.  He did the whole thing with just a chisel but for our purposes it could be a bit "lighter".

A viking chair style stool. It's a very simple version that can be set up and taken down easily. this one can be stored away in a relatively small space until needed.

To get certified for this BB provide photos or video (less than 2 minutes) showing the following:

- Your chunks of wood that you are starting with
- Progress about halfway through, with the hand tools you have decided to use for this
- List any power tools you used (Otis would love it if you only used hand tools)
- The final product

The harder you work, the luckier you get. This tiny ad brings luck - just not good luck or bad luck.
