This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Animal Care.

For this Badge Bit, you will harvest 200,000 calories from a domestic animal system!

(site: Pinterest.com)

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
 - Harvest 200,000 calories from a domestic animal system (counts 60 points towards Wood Badge)
     - At least 6 animal products
     - Poultry and Eggs may count as 2
     - Dairy and Beef may count as 2
     - Minimum of 10,000 calories from each of the 6
     - Must be for human consumption

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 mins):
 - show the harvesting of calories from a domestic animal system
 - show the weight (or volume if that is applicable) of each animal product and describe how many calories that represents (that meets the above stated requirements)

Poultry: 150 meat birds averaging 3 pounds at 1160 calories per bird = 174,000 calories

One whole pasture raised cow: There are about 1 million calories

Eggs: .5 dozen eggs a day for roughly 9 months= 112,752 (This is not including the duck, quail, and goose eggs we harvested)

Rabbits: We harvested roughly 90 meat rabbits at 4 lbs each last year which would equal around 90,000 calories

4 pigs: Roughly 200 lbs each= 768,000 calories

2 lambs with roughly 50 lbs of carcass= 100,000 calories

That's a whole lot of food my friends!
