This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Textiles.

For this BB, you will replace caning on a chair using pre-woven caning.

"Wicker," "caned," and "woven" are popular terms for chairs on which reed or fiber webbing forms either the seat or the back of the chair. These terms are often used interchangably, but when they need repair it's important to understand which one you're working with.

Pre-woven caning is created with a mechanized loom. Also known as spline cane, machine woven cane, or pressed cane. The following articles and videos will show you how to replace caning on a chair.
