I give this product 8 out of 10 acorns.

How often has it been utilized?
Several times over two years.

Review
I have found this tamper to be a simple but valuable tool to have on hand. Originally it was purchased to cold patch some issues in a driveway but has now moved towards some earthwork tasks such as laying pathways outside. The tool weights roughly ten pounds all together with attached hardwood handle and 8x8" steel head. Some people have reported snapping handles but I have not ran into that issue personally. Trick to the tool to prevent this is to let its natural weight do its share of the work. You might not think ten pounds is a lot but once you start tamping layers in it does well. The head on my unit has some semi-ugly welds but nothing that appears to be compromising. A couple acorns was deducted for it but it doesn't have to be pretty as long as it works.

Recommendation
I wouldn't hesitate recommending this tool.
