This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Sand badge in Traditional Skills.

If you need to get someones attention at distance and you don't have a cell phone, you might want a whistle.  Let's make one!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a whistle from wood or other natural materials
  - Protected with a natural oil or wax finish
  - Means of hanging it from a cord, perhaps around your neck
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The material you're starting with
  - Midway through making the whistle
  - If you have multiple pieces stuck together, explain how you stuck them together
  - Finished whistle
