Traditional Skills
instruction, regulation, insurance, safety, etc

Demonstrate the ability to work with natural materials to build tools and equipment for survival, pioneering or living very closely to nature.  Many skills and practices were developed by resourceful early inhabitants and pioneers to survive in the wilderness.  These projects can only use materials that existed 200 years ago. Tools and equipment can be modern if you want.

Otis  has a deep respect for the old ways.  Show him that you appreciate the ways things "used to be done".
