This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Traditional Skills.

Willow is a common material for baskets and other woven projects.  Let's collect and prepare some for a future project!

Here's one way to do it:

How to know if the willow you found is suitable for weaving:

Minimum requirements:
  - Collect, prepare and store 24 willow stems
  - At least 5' long
  - Suitable willow species for weaving using "bend around the finger" test
  - Minimal or no branching
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The area you're harvesting from
  - Suitability test using "bend around the finger" method
  - Collected willows bundled with a way to see they're at least 5' long
  - View of the butt end of the bundle to see at least 24
