These are 3 gallon buckets so about 12 gallons of compost documented for this BB. It took 3 or 4 weeks to generate this amount.

Note: It looks like the compost is awfully close to your kale, make sure to not disturb the roots of your desirable plants!

Sorry, I’ve been out of town!

Yes, it is a 10 gallon bucket. I could find any markings on the bucket that it’s 10 gal, but I used a 1/2 gal measuring cup to fill it with 10 gal water.

Where did you get 50 gallons of apple scraps!? lol

Moontower Cider Company in Austin, TX  ...a conscious small biz.   Their cider is as amazing as their commitment to recycling their scraps.   I hauled 7 barrels every week for 2 months at the beginning of this year.   It composted with wood chips, leaves, and grass to make enough potting soil for my upstart nursery to last me a year.

I use an old modified kitty litter bucket to hold food scraps over winter which holds 5.7 gallons. Both buckets were almost to the top.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
 - Start with two areas that have already been mulched (or mulch two places) ✔️
 - Collect two 5 gallon buckets of kitchen scraps ✔️
 - open a spot in the mulch for the kitchen scraps ✔️
 - plop one bucket of kitchen scraps in a spot so that the material will not touch desirable plants ✔️
 - cover the kitchen scraps with existing mulch or new mulch ✔️
 - repeat in another spot for second bucket ✔️

To document your completion of the BB, provide the following:
 - a photo of the bucket of kitchen scraps next to the opened mulch
 - a photo of the empty bucket and the new mound of mulch
 - repeat for second bucket
 - describe the volume of your bucket(s) and how full they were

Please see the photos attached to document this BB. Blessings
