This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Homesteading.

For this BB, you will be scything an area of 100 square feet (ditch, around pole building, etc)!

Here is a related video:

To document your completion of the BB, provide the photos or video (<2 min) of the following:
 - the area before scything
 - part way through the scything
 - the finished area you have scythed (obviously at least 100 square feet)

Approved BB submission
I quit using a lawn mower ages ago it seems.  In fact, many years ago I finally decided there was no point in keeping my gas powered lawn mower and gave it away.  I've been using a scythe all this time on my yard.  I usually do this 1 to 3 times a year.  Seems like I should go ahead and document this and submit it for the BB!  So here it is.  I don't know how many square feet I'm doing but it should be clear that this is way more than 100 sq/ft.

Here is that section afterward. There is lots of poison ivy in this zone so I tend to just let things lay where they fall rather than raking it up.

My pal Pat handed me the scythe and ordered me to mow part of his driveway.
