homesteading
instruction, regulation, insurance, safety, etc

This aspect is a list of bits and bobs that don't fit into other aspects. Mostly:

Conventional homestead techniques and projects
Projects might involve glue, paint, and toxins that we typically want to minimize in the other aspects
A few things that might fit better in another aspect, but that aspect was “full”

When you inherit the land from Otis, you will get two homes.   The “old house” that Otis was born in and the “new house” that Otis built.  Even if you build three new wofatis and most of the property is a permaculture heaven, these original buildings need to be properly cared for - and that care will require techniques and materials that fall outside our vision of permaculture. Prove to Otis that what he leaves to you will be well cared for.  And prove to Otis what you are made of - on his terms.

Do you want a BB page created for each item of the "little list" or just one general BB for the whole little list?

I think the straw badge should include Scything.

Or saving the straw from harvesting Wheat or Oats or Rye.

Of course I think that because I do it....

Wouldn't that be "tool care"?  We have a bunch of other car maintenance and repair stuff there.

I suspect that over the next few months we will add 40 new things to the sand badge lists.   Any suggestions?

Maybe we need a few BBs like this:

- create a hidden boneyard
- move stuff to a boneyard
- make a boneyard more hidden (less visible)
- take a spot that looks junky and tidy it - probably by putting stuff in a shed or moving it to a boneyard

I feel like this might be the beginning of 20 things - and these 20 things might very well be the most important things to Otis.

Could you clarify the duplication as it is different for different badges?
Up to 10 points of duplication allowed from the Straw BB list OR from the Straw or Sand BB list

The first is implied by saying that new items for the sand list are allowed but I would like to verify since I got inspired by replacing fire extinguishers and I already did it at my sister's and I'm going to replace them at my parent's place and a friend's as well.

It's for Sand or Straw.  So if you had the Sand badge already but hadn't done that BB, you could do it 21 times in Straw.  Once since it's a new item from Sand and then you can duplicate up to 10 points (1/2 point x 20 times).

If you had done it when you got your Sand badge, you can only do it 20 more times now in Straw.

The duplication is in total though so if you do two more fire extinguishers for 1 total point, you can only duplicate 9 points elsewhere during the Straw badge.
