I am applying the Ruth Stout
compost method to the black berry bed. Because I also save food waste to feed the chickens, these dumps contain things that I do not feed the chicken, like coffee grounds, heavier stalks of broccoli and cauliflower, potatoes, ect. It will be interesting to see if the potatoes sprout here next year. Each pile was placed next to the last dump so that a concentrated area is improved. I cover all the beds with either spoiled hay or leaves for the winter which makes this an easy method of composting.
