This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Wood badge in Traditional Skills.

Traveling in the winter when there isn't a road can be a challenge or an opportunity.  Sliding over the snow is easier than walking through it and skis can make that happen.  Let's try to make a pair!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a traditional set of skis
  - From a hardwood
  - Steam bent
  - Including the binding
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The materials you're starting with
  - Midway through shaping the skis
  - Making the bindings
  - Finished snow skis

I wasn't selected to go to mars. This tiny ad got in ahead of me:
