Weave a split wood basket - PEM BB traditional.straw.splitbasket

This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Straw badge in Traditional Skills.

As we travel through the world we often want to carry stuff with us.  When your hands aren't enough, it's time to build something to help.  Let's make a split wood basket!  This BB could also count towards the PEP Weave a BasketBB.

 


Here's one way to do it:


Minimum requirements:
  - Make a basket from strips of wood
  - You don't need to harvest/make the strips of wood
  - Tight enough gaps to hold dry beans
  - At least 8 inches wide and 6 inches tall
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The wood strips you're starting with
  - The basket under construction
  - The finished basket showing its size meets the requirements
