This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Traditional Skills.

In the olden days they didn't have Elmers glue.  They had a wonderful substance called hide glue.  Let's make some!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make 4 ounces of hide or sinew glue
  - Show that it works to glue wood together
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The sinew or hide you're starting with
  - Cooking it
  - Finished hide/sinew glue
  - Glue wood together in a way that shows that your glue does actually work

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
