This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Wood badge in Traditional Skills.

Traveling over long distances in the winter can be a chore.  Maybe if we tied some horses to a big sled we could haul stuff easier?  Let's try to make a bobsled!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a bobsled
  - Sized to be pulled by horses or something big
  - Clearly strong enough to carry 2000 lbs
  - Four runners, two turn with the tongue
  - Some sort of cargo holding box or passenger seating
  - Any metal fabrication is done by you
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - Some of the materials you're starting with
  - Several stages during construction of running gear (everything below the box or carriage)
  - Finished bobsled from three angles
