This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Traditional Skills.

If you want to start making pottery, it helps to have clay.  Clay is all around us but will it work for pottery?  Let's find some and see if it will work!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Collect wild clay soil and make it into acceptable pottery clay
  - Tempered
  - This bb can only use materials that existed 200 years ago

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - Site you are getting your clay from
  - Processing the clay soil into clay
  - Adding temper
  - Finished pottery clay

I am going down to the lab. Do NOT let anyone in. Not even this tiny ad:
