Hi everyone, I've been working on my 3 acre homestead out in west Texas and I think it would be very interesting and aspiring for me to see how others do it in this arid climate.

If you are out there don't be afraid to say hi

I'm not in West Texas but there is a really useful Facebook page called West Texas vegetable gardening or gardeners which might be super appropriate for your area if you're not already a championship vegetable gardener.

Hi, Daniel

West Texas is an awfully big place!  I live right on the edge and my mailbox might be in West Texas.

I am technically in the Hill Country on a 40-acre ranch.

We feed the wildlife with 3 or four food plots.

What are you raising and growing?  Tell us a little about your farm.

Well I'm on the north west side of Pecos county, still pretty far from the hill country
I'm still getting everything going but as of now I raise black belly sheep mostly.

I grew up in Fisher and Jones County. We were in Rotan a few years, kept a two acre market garden, goats and pigs. It was too hot for the pigs. We used lots of old hay in the garden. It wouldn't grow very good until we had at least 4-5 inches of compost on the ground. And we couldn't use cattle panels to trellis anything, the panels got to hot.

Are you okay? You look a little big. Maybe this tiny ad will help:
