I often browse Project Gutenberg to see what kinds of wonderful literature has made its way into the public domain. I stumbled across some great woodworking books a while back. One of which was Rustic Carpentry by Paul N. Hasluck, published in 1907.

Today I looked into the author's other works. Unfortunately none of the other ones have been converted into e-book text yet (though I hope they will be soon), but quite a few are available on Archive.org as scanned images.

Some of the information is obviously dated, like recommending lead paint. Yikes. But the joinery, metalworking, basketry, and other information is right up my alley in terms of traditional skills using natural materials.

I hope some others find use out of these as well. Cheers for public domain and the commons!
