Hi, my name is Andrew berggren. I'm seeking refuge from a hard life and from a harsh world. I've been studying permaculture for over 5 years now , and I am pretty disenchanted in this modern world. I have my own vehicle and am willing to travel anywhere that I can get to with my vehicle and dogs. I would even be willing to give up the vehicle if necessary. However it would make it hard to bring much belongings. I've had a very tragic life , and I'm exhausted. Dreaming about permaculture makes me happy but I want it to be more than just dreaming. Im ready to live it. I have an associates of science in agriculture and have taken like 5 PDCs. I'm 27. Hard working. I am a burn survivor and I could really use a place to belong . I am an entrepreneur and love to dream up ideas. Please someone hear me out and talk to me. I prefer to live on a farm where it is good weather , but honestly at this point I don't care where I go. Any where that I'm able to escape the rat race and rest my tired soul would be wonderful. I have a lot of love to give to the world and enjoy working hard towards things I believe in. I just can't do this all on my own anymore and I need some support. I hope someone gets what I'm trying to express and gives me a chance.
Thanks for reading.

Hi, Drew

Welcome to the forum.

Drew said, Please someone hear me out and talk to me.

I would suggest that you consider doing some breathing exercises especially when you feel this way.

This exercise only takes a few minutes and I find the results are amazing.

Breathe in through the nose, hold for a count of 5 then breathe out through the mouth.

Hi Drew,
Welcome to Permies. I hope you find what you are looking for.
It sounds like you are looking for stability now rather than just building more experiences? Check out the experiences category. There are usually people looking for homestead help, both temporary and full time. Maybe one of those will seem to be a good fit. Have you looked into the Wheaton labs possibility as well? That's Paul's place with lots of exciting projects going on. There are short and long term possibilities there, including (as I understand it) the ability to earn your own bit of land.

If community interest you, check out my post here. I have felt the same way as you for a long time. Trying to build something wonderful. Live on 15 quiet acres but only 15 min's from a small town and 30 min from a medium town both really chill. Property is up a mountain at the end of the road surround by peace andd quiet away from the rat race.  Check out my post to see what the idea is. Hope you find the right place, the place of your dreams.

Hey thanks for the support everyone and advice. It's all helpful..I have a camper waiting for me in Sacramento and I'm about to drive there. So once I'm there I'll want to find a better place to park it and land to help care for ideally. If anyone has suggestions for that area, I will do some deeper digging when I am settled into the camper and try to dial options in and find something nice. And yes, stability is definitely what I need but experience is obviously what we all crave and need to grow also and I'm open to all of it ! I'm going to keep looking and hopefully find something ideal that isn't too much hassle to transition into. A decent place to bring my camper and dogs near enough to Sacramento is the goal for me for now.

Hey thanks! Unfortunately the living arrangement I got into should have had writing. We're being asked to leave with no refund. So I'm looking for somewhere else to go , on our own or to build something with others. Very willing to travel. Been actually looking at land in Jamaica. But we'll have to leave all our RVs and cars behind

We should throw him a surprise party. It will cheer him up. We can use this tiny ad:
