We are an older couple well along the path of a sustainable organic farmlet in Western Appalachian of N.C., in search of a good fit single/couple interested in living a life more in tune with Mother Nature.
We offer housing, food, a small stipend and companionship in exchange for labor. Must be drug free, Vegan/Vegetarian and
non-tobacco user.
There is a strict no dog policy but will consider other pets. Limited WiFi and no cell service, no microwaves or non-organic processed foods. Everything we use is biodegradable and non-polluting. Transportation is a plus but can get by without.
Previous work experience such as gardening, construction, off grid living, goats, food prep, preservation, greenhouse and wood heat are all things appreciated.
This is not a stop-over on way to somewhere else or a detox but would give assistance to those pursuing a healthier lifestyle.
We do not do your laundry but supply laundry facilities.
Conservative respectful mannerisms towards others and Gaia a must. Willingness to participate, share ideas and follow through.
We share some meals, play cards, music and conversation. Pretty simple lifestyle really. On occasion we do go into Asheville for shopping & recreation. There are abundant water activities, lakes, fishing, kayaking and hiking as property borders National Forest.
Will discuss other details upon request.
Must be straightforward and willing to discuss personal information and provide a picture.
May you find that for which you search.
Peace Gordon and Deb

Heya Gordon!

Was wondering if you found someone who would fit into your little community! I am new to permies, but I feel right at home already!

I have experience gardening at home, and am looking to get more in touch with Mother Earth, and move away from routines that no longer serve what I believe in (which in short, is sustainability). I do have a cat, Kona, but she is tiny and so sweet.

I have a very strong work ethic, and I am excited and ready to learn!

Feel free to PM me!

Recent developments,.... the farm has come long way on the road to sustainability and we are now looking for persons to share the burden of existence by contributing to cause. You get housing and most food for modest contribution,...we are looking for more permanent habitats with desire to become part of family. Thanks Gord and Deb

Hello Gordon hello Deb.
I am interested in your community I have a lot to offer. My interest is mainly to learn about it since I recently purchased some land in Tennessee and would like to make it a opportunity for people to come and help build a natural home with natural well there is power to the property although my interest is to use solar and other energy sources. Coming to your community would be a learning experience for implementation on my own property at some point I already have building permits for the driveway and the home setting up a mailbox. One of my interest is beekeeping an organic farming I'm a healer by Nature .fem 56 unusually strong and resilient. My name is Henry I am 32, graduated college in civil then electronics engineering. I am 6’4” 200lbs and not afraid to lift 200lbs on my shoulders. I have tremendous perseverance and attention to detail when doing things I love, perma-farming being one, as it keeps me close to God. I am religious and live almost a Monastic life, outside a monastery. Pretty boring one may think, but God is my fuel and I can be out there working that field alone, I don’t care, I do it alone, just God and I! I love helping and this is great for me, and great for you because I truly know what I can offer to another human, and it’s a lot, much more than you expect, possibly mind blowing! I will make anyone’s life easier for sure, and not because I would try, but just because it’s who I am, I enjoy transforming with my hands, making things from bad to good again, to make someone worthless valuable, I rather dress up an old puppy pretty again then to breed another one.
