If you see someone that interests you, maybe stop and ask yourself some of these questions.

Do they talk about permaculture and gardening in a meaningful way or is it chaffy?

Do  they take an interest in the permies community or do they mostly post in the singes forum?

Do they have lots of apples, likes, and pie?

These three questions can tell you a lot about the other person and what your communications are likely to be  

I have lots of like with my wife's out of garden dishes.  I have lots of apple every summer from my trees that squirrels get most of.  and a lot of freshly cooked pie  from garden fruit

Hi:   I noticed your Appalachian trail shirt.  I hike the trail in 1990 starting in Maine going to Georgia.  How was your hike.  I am now in my 70s and too frail for the outdoors life.

I have 3 seedling 8 year old Meiwa kumquat trees.  2 are outside and in ground and 1 is inside in a pot.

I also have a Meiwa kumquat grafted to PT outside and inground.

Is that Tromboncini squash

It is a waste of time unless I grow food that can't be purchased.  Sweet lemons,  kumquats, figs,  honeyberries, sour cherries, kale/collards, pears & peaches with flavor

It would be much cheaper and offer much more use to build your house with 12 inch insulated walls and 30 inches attic and have a separate greenhouse for plants.
