This entire forum makes me want to re-read the Giver series by Lois Lowry.  Gathering Blue names so many dye plants that are grown in the main character's garden.  I planted a few of them just because of the book: indigo and madder.  I already had goldenrod, elderberry, yarrow.  Who else is in love with this book...and dye plants???

It's been quite a few years since I have read the series and 'Gathering Blue' was a stand out.
