3 years into a 5 acre permaculture/restoration agriculture in desert southwest;exstreamly difficultt soil [clay and even some caliche]plenty of rock..
since we arrived the entire property is fenced with good field fence[even with cats dogs chickens etc all the coyotes we see[plenty] are outside and no loss of stock
totally of grid//solar/wind/ and rainwater collection
small grow tunnel for winter
decent internet///but conservative water use so we can handle gardens etc untill desert swales finish plluming//by the way that 14=12:1 on previous post refered to the swales 1 inch of rain sends 12 inches to deepest part of swale so last yr 13 inches total do the math//we have fruit trees doing wellpastured chicked deep orange yolk eggs/2 cows [meat] couple grape vines.
we have a long way to go but would accept some input both expierencely and physically.
so if you feel inclined we got a shaded old motor home on place we stayed in while building our tiny earth bag passive solar house/we use outdoor kitchen in summer/grow real nice food..
BEWARE; there is little to do but Mexico is only a half hour away//Tuscon 1 1/2.
give a shout if you feel it///I do not do well with some folks just an olld fella with a young 62 wife
I'm very interested in seeing a project in progress when all this covid stuff dies down, and sounds like your not too far from me. I have a cargo trailer I set up as a makeshift camper for my kids and I and would be thrilled to come out sometime for a weekend of volunteering at the least. My kids are homeschooled little permies and come everywhere with me though.
