Hi,
I will be building a cob oven following Kiko Denzer's book instructions and I'd like to figure out how much can such an oven weight
because I'd like to build it on top of a mobile structure and want to make sure it is strong enough.
The size of the oven chamber is 90 cm - 3ft and it will have two layers for a total cob thickness of the dome of about 9"
plus the bricks that make for the oven floor and possibly a chimney in the front.
Any experience about this?
If you do a simple "mobile cob oven" search, there are lots of images, text and videos. Just from my very quick look, being mobile takes some pretty good engineering and can weigh up to 1/2 ton.

Yes , being mobile cob would be prone to cracking. I'm sure it can be done but travel might need to be slow to minimize bouncing. A bucket of repair cob should always travel with it!
I would guess weight to be #800- #1200. Not light but not super heavy. A small trailer with really good suspension and a smaller vehicle would move it.

Hi,
I have seen images where a (27") cob oven is built on a surface that rests on top of 2 saw horses, and they don't seem to be super strong structures.
Also the interior will empty. My oven will be some 20" wider....800 pounds (362 Kg) seems quite heavy to me....but again don't have experience with this
