I'm definitely planning to make elderberry tincture this year, from the flowers. It grows in my aunt's forest garden and I want to cut most of it after flowering, because it's overgrown and I need large branches for the new fence I'm making.
I also have some raw propolis (the small dry lumps), and I'm thinking to mix it with elderberry flowers in the tincture.
Is it a good idea, or should I rather make two separate tinctures?
I am not a specialist at all in tinctures. My preparations are general syrups and similar. I also don't know enough about alcohol's impact on honey, etc. to weigh in. Hopefully a herbalist with expertise in this area in the forum will chime in!
