Dusting with sulfur is old advice, because it turns out to serve no purpose and may actually be harmful when applied to cut tubers. If you are going to cut, make sure to sterilize your knife after every cut and either plant immediately or leave the tubers to heal in a humid environment. That's it.
I have planted plenty of potatoes before, but the only actually dusted them once—and I couldn’t tell that it did anything. I suppose that means I will just forget about dusting them then.
I have plenty of potatoes to plant and I want to gets jump on them ASAP, but not until I am reasonably certain that they won’t freeze out—we are supposed to have some freezing temperatures this week.
