Hi there. I made five pomegranate trees from cuttings three years ago for a neighbor. She moved at took the trees with her. They were still small and in pots. Two years ago I found one of the pots that was busted in a pile of dirt with what I thought was one of the pomegranates growing out of it. Since I wasn’t sure what tree it was I removed it and planted on my property. It’s healthy and vigorous but I’m not sure it’s a pomegranate. I’ve taken some pictures and would love some help.
I’d love to know what kind of tree it is. I’ll break out my books and try again.
I took a small plastic bottle, one inch of water and the cuttings. I put the cap on very lightly and in the shade it went. Every couple days I changed the water. No rooting hormone or anything.
Picture one has figs in the large container and pomegranates in the small.
Yes! Curly willow it is! I would have not figured that out. It’s a good looking tree but it’s shading some planting space so it has to go. If it were giving me pomegranates it would be ok. Thank you again for your help!
You could probably take some cuttings this fall and stick them in the ground in another spot and have lots of new trees for next year.
I used some willow cuttings this year with my grape cuttings, and both seemed to do really well together. Maybe that tree just needs a few grape vines growing on it?!

I’ve been sitting here looking at things to do with it. I’m surprised at its versatility. I need help with my grapes though. That will probably need a new thread because I’m apparently terrible at growing them. Mission accomplished on this one. I can’t thank you enough Steve.
Regards, Scott
