Brown mushy spots on my bell peppers. picture added

Hey all,

I am getting brown soft spots on my bell peppers way before they are ripe. It looks they are starting to rot on the vine so to speak but they aren't even ripe yet.

Any clue whats going on?

That sure looks like what I have Tyler. These plants have grown in this bed the whole time. I would think they would be used to the sun. Is there anything I can do about it? I pulled the affected fruit off already to prevent any chance of spread or other problems. Would more water help?

Here is a pic of one of the affected peppers and the plant it came off of. The leaves on the plant look healthy to me. The only thing that I can find on the plant that might be a sign of something suspect is the dark coloring at the forks where the branches and fruit sprout off but every pepper plant I have ever grown has had that coloring in the forks.

I don't know guys. To me it seems to look more like the sunburn than the fungus rot but I'm not sure. Do the pictures help ID the problem?

I agree it looks more like the pictures of sunburn.

It looks like a bacterial infection, common on pepers. try spraying garlic water on them

Diversified Food forest maker . Fill every niche and you'll have less weeds (the weeds are the crop too). Fruit, greens, wild harvest, and nuts as staple. Food processing and preservation are key to self self-sufficiency. Never eat a plant without posetive identification and/or consulting an expert.

I have the same issue on all of my hot and bell pepper plants that are in different planter beds. It's very frustrating and disappointing. I recently built shade coverings over my plants and hopefully this solves the problem. The spots on my peppers are facing up towards the sun so I assume it's sunburn. Are the spots on your peppers facing towards the sun? I don't think that it's anthracnos because it's only one spot and not multiple. Please let me know what happened with yours or what you learned. Yeah if they're facing up towards the sun it's almost certainly sunburn. My bells did the same a couple summers back. Pulled off the worst ones and put up some shade cloth for the afternoon and the new growth came through clean. Not much else you can do once the damage is done.
