What is flowable charcoal?

I just found a bottle of flowable charcoal in my basement.  I have no idea how it got there or what it is used for.  

At one time, were you afraid that you might have contaminated soil?  That is one use for flowable charcoal.

Or maybe it was there when you bought the place?

Does the label say it is activated charcoal with no other ingredients? Maybe it could be added to your garden to improve the soil, like biochar.

You are verifying what I suspected.  The label is damaged, but I will give a closer read. I am sure it was here when I bought the place.  The previous occupants claimed to be big into  organic gardening.  But then I found the half empty bottle of DDT.   Giving credit, I suspect that was from the owner before them .... and it might explain the liquid charcoal.  Yes, I took the bottle of DDT to the local farm bureau.  That was over 20 years ago.

I was doing some research between posts, so I managed to develop some concept.    Some lemon juice helped the label.  The brand is Trebor.  It is activated.  On the plus side it lists for over $100 a gallon.  On the down side, there are severe handling precautions which strikes me as more than strange for activated charcoal.
