Hi to all,

Im planting Ranier Cherry pits this fall, about a couple hundred of them, I have read about possible pollinators, but I wanted to know if Sour Cherries, Chokecherry and ornamental (non fruiting)cherries will pollenate?  Also will other stone fruits like plums and apricots pollenate cherries?  Many thanks.

I did a google search for your question.

This was the best answer I got:

https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/cherry/pollinating-a-cherry-tree.htm

North Star and Black Gold are late-season pollinators while Stella is an early-season variety. Van, Sam, Rainier, and Garden Bing are all adaptable to any of the cross pollinators available except themselves. Pollinating a cherry tree when you are unsure of the variety can be done with the Lambert or Garden Bing varieties in most cases.
