New From NC

Hello all, Names Ed and I am living in NC. I have been gardening for a few years now, recently trying my hand at Aquaculture, permaculture, and I just started a hugelkultur bed. Just found this site and looking forward to gleaning a wealth of info that I have seen here.

Hello, welcome to this site. I used to be stationed at Fort Bragg so your not to far from where I am at (Burlington). I have noticed an influx of NC people joining the permies site. Either way, there is a lot of information in this forum.

Hi Eddie and Welcome! I'm in South Carolina. I envy your location - there is actually quite a bit of permie stuff going on in NC as compared to SC.

Ed, I've been an organic gardener, I think, since birth. At least my parents told me I used to toddle into my Grandmother's garden and help her "pick" strawberries. Don't think I ever made it to the house with any, though.

I'm wanting to do aquaponics, and currently have just cows, Nubian goats, chickens, and a mixed assortment of fruit/nut/berries and garden space, mostly raised beds.
I'm in NC too, southwestern part, so in the mountains. Mountain farming, especially on some of those steep slopes is a bit of a challenge. Terracing is the only way to do it.
