I'm not sure if this fits in this area, but it doesn't seem to have a home anywhere better.
Looking to increase my knowledge of raising snails, and of the different types of snails that can be raised. My primary interest is in raising snails native to Kentucky for personal eating, however I am open to other varieties to raise if they are not tightly regulated/invasive. It seems there is lots of red tape around snails.
I'm looking currently for alternative snail species to raise, rather than aspersum or pomatia, as they are regulated by the usda, but connecting what species are allowed, and what species are practical and would be edible is difficult. I want to play by the rules, but am also not wanting to have to fuss with them. I'm not creating a snail farm, I'm looking to raise them in my backyard to eat.
